Your rating of 2/14/68 is a "C+"? OUCH.

And deleted! What, not even a keeper?!? That does not compute!

Neat you're doing that, though, kdern. I'm not nearly that organized. So, what was it about 2/14 that didn't grab you -- the particular show, the recording you heard, or just that era in general? Have you heard 10/12/68, which was just discussed as a TDIH?

I know, I know... but they're just a little too jam-heavy for me. I'm really enjoying 1973 lately though...

... which is also darned jam heavy! And I'm betting folks who know about music would say it's more complex, too. So I bet it's not the jam, but the flavor of jam.

indeed, '73 is one of the most jammed out years. and in general the music is definitely more complex the anything from the '60s. the dead are a completely different band in '73 than they were in the '60s. maybe '60s dead just isn't your thing. it'll probably grow on you though.

I still skip some of the longer jams from 1973... I enjoy the songs more than the jams and the 60's shows seem to be mostly jams. A show from 72-73 is mostly songs, so even if I skip a Drums>TOO>Space I'm still enjoying 90% of the show!

skipping TOO?! i think you need to start with versions that aren't too "out there," such as this one:
